How is it still January...?! I'm feeling like a plant purchase of something trailing to add into the mix here... 💚 . . This is my favourite hanging corner of my apartment. If you are looking to create your own indoor jungle, try styling some trailing plants off a hook in a hanger (as I've done here), or off a curtain pole. Easy care plants such as spider plants oflr pothos trail beautifully and add personality to a space. If you have a room with lower light, snake plants or zz's can add a good dose of sculptural style and need little care so looking after them won't be a headache (just don't over water!) . . | www.houseplanthouse.com | . . . #pausewithplants #houseplants #houseplantclub #trailingplants #urbanjunglebloggers #plantstyling #houseplantsofinstagram #hoyalinearis #indoorplants #pilealovers #macramemovement #interiorstyling #foliageFriday #myplantgang #plantsofig #interiorrewilding
My crazy spider plant and peperomia hope for #trailingthingsthursday . . Being around plants can help boost productivity, so of course, I have filled my office at home with rather a lot of plants... As evidenced by this photo (that's just a tiny portion of the 80plants in this room!) . Adding some plant shelves is an affordable way to transform a space and if you style it right, you can create the effect if a 'green wall' which is incredibly popular right now. There's lots of styling inspiration on Pinterest (and insta of course). . Play around with colours and textures to create an eye-catching, work-enhancing feature in your room that reflects your personal style 💚 . . I thought my zingy neon pothos deserved a post today as I realised I haven't shared it for a while. It's a mood booster for sure on these grey January days... When I got up this morning it really did look like the middle of the night! 💚 . My favourite way to style this plant is to pair it with charcoal grey, either against a wall or in a pot. Here it is on my dining table! If you have followed me for a while, you might remember my blospost on my website about how to bring this colour into your home if you are a bit intimidated by the chartreuse hue. . Following on from my previous post, I also love the cheery look of an orange kalanchoe against a blue wall. Have a look at a colour wheel for some colourful planty inspiration! . Little details 💚 I love sitting with this view of my bedroom plants in the morning, the afternoon and the evening too! #onwednesdaysweplantpink . . Plant styling tip [ad] : If you want to pop some plants in your bedroom, I'd recommend some night time oxygenators such as sansevieria and kalanchoe 'flaming katy' which compliment each other well. They are both succulents so need little water this time of year, and flaming Katy flowers add a lively splash of colour as you can see mine here in the photo. They are such long lasting blooms, which is an added bonus, and they are widely available - you can usually pick them up when you are doing your grocery shopping! . It's plant watering time here at HPH HQ! . As you can see if you swipe, an easy dark bathroom hack is to use a botanical shower curtain...the only plants that can manage here are a golden pothos + asparagus fern so this can help to make things feel a bit more #junglevibes ! . Over winter, don't forget to keep your foliage plants free from dust — it helps keep the leaves healthy + is a good pest prevention tip too. Use water at room temperature + wipe any larger leaves with a cloth (I use an old tshirt!) to give them a bit of a pamper. . Plant styling tip: On that note, have a go at creating your own mood-boosting set up (if your light levels allow) by adding a few tropical plants to your bathroom. Big leafy plants have big impact + will thrive in these spaces, which often have indirect light + increased humidity. #foliagefanatic . . A bit of plant care + repotting always calms me down and lifts my mood [ad] 💚 . . . I made this kalanchoe planter as a present for my friend to put on her sunny windowsill — they will thrive there + are just coming into bloom. They are a great choice as an affordable present for the person that doesn't always remember to water their plants! As succulents, kalanchoe store water in their fleshy foliage + over winter, I water mine every 10days or so around the base of the plant (I try not to get water on the leaves or flowers). The spider plant +dracaena are also heading off to a new home as a moving present after a re-pot. Houseplants are a great way to give your space a New Year re-fresh but they can be much more than that too — an instant mood booster, helping to relieve stress + improve wellbeing #bluemonday . . I'm collaborating with @alwayskalanchoe this week on sharing some plant styling tips, showing how I use houseplants to give me a boost when I need it + to help banish those blue Monday / January blues . . . . . | www.houseplanthouse.com | . . .
