As tulip season fades on my balcony garden, I have been mesmerised by capturing their wilting beauty as they crinkle up into abstract forms quite far removed removed from their former glory. As the petals separate to reveal their often concealed inner structure, the once solid forms of colour have now become detached and open to the elements, which accounts for their fairly quick demise.
From these I have been doing some line drawings, which I will share soon.
It just reminded me of how Morticia Addams grew roses, but then cut the flowers off because she liked the thorny stems so much.
