After what seemed like a never-ending succession of dreary grey days, the weather forecast promised ‘sunny intervals‘. A morning glow crept across my bedroom wall, throwing Ficus shadows on the uneven plaster. The brightness illuminated details to my houseplants I had missed; the silver spots of my polka pot begonia on the kitchen counter, the pink tint to the variegated string of hearts nearest the window + dust settling on the Aspidistra foliage. Outside, the bare trees stood against big blue sky bathed in golden light.
